If you thought a sky dive would be tough, forget about it. What is going on here is just insane. The highest bungy jump in Australasia! 134 m! And you have to jump on your own. With a perfect dive. The craziest shit the Panda has done ever. “Yolo” just can’t describe it anymore. Share the last minutes with him!
80 seconds of free fall from a height of 6 km! Holy banoly! That’s enough time to overcome the adrenaline fix and start looking around and enjoying the surroundings. Like this awesome glacier you will see here. There are tons on the south island and we probably will see some more. And we are looking forward to more action as we come closer to Queenstown.
Soo dark in here! What an awesome cave with stalagmites, stalagtites, climbing, waterholes darkness n shit! With the right equipment you could probably dive deeper! But you’ll see the panda is not that well prepared. But hell this cave is cool! In both meanings 😉
Another place where you can’t use a camera to catch the flare and you’re feelings. Imagine standing in front of a giant hole with a depth of 357m without rails or safety ropes. You can’t? Then it’s worth visiting the Harwoods Hole on your way to Abel Tasman. Coz the latter kinda sucks. The panda hiked a loop track including the last part of the great Abel Tasman walk. And this should be the best part! But it’s just not worth it. It consists of cool beaches that you can have right at the starting point, heaps of comparatively boring forest combined with an uncountable number of up and downs. Seriously, this track is ridiculous. Seems like they tried to expand your hike to the maximum. A walk that could be done in probably 4 hours is stretched to 8 by adding pointless curves and slopes. And the average hiker has to pay for one more night in a hut. But the panda didn’t give a shit and walked these horrible 8 hours and decided not to do a single footstep the next day.
Finally, traveling goes on! The panda is waiting for the ferry from Wellington to Picton on the south island. It will set sails 7am. That’s enough reason to sleep in Welli and to try the new hammock! No free campsites around this city so why not use a park? Let’s hope for good weather and see you on the south island!
As there is just one feast at christmas day (and not 3 days of overindulgance like in Germany) the panda needs to go fishing to survive (kind of)… Coz grocery stores are open on boxing day (second christmas day) and weekends and almost every time. In contrast, Kiwis love there holidays so much, that if it’s on a weekend they get mondays off! Pretty cool unless you want to earn some money like the Panda does.
This is not necessarily where you need a geologist for, but the Panda needs some bucks to travel the South Island. This jobs includes a lot of wiring, clipping and cutting and especially clipping…and wiring. All of this will probably last ’til end mid February but the panda will be finished by end January and start traveling again.
